Event Information

Description

This class is for Middle School and Junior High School aged sailors interested in honing skills already learned in beginner and intermediate courses. If your child has not completed at least a beginner sailing course and is unfamiliar with sailing please ask to be put on our mailing list for the next Beginner Learn to Sail course or the next Family Learn to Sail Course by emailing learntosail@youthsailingva.org.

Exciting news! Through a collaborative effort with the United States Sailing Association (US Sailing), your child will become Youth Members of US Sailing and have access to the Skill Up app and other member benefits. The goal is for our Sailing Instructors to qualify your child for the Small Boat Sailor Certification at no additional charge. (Parents: you will have access to the Skill Up app along with the Instructors. There is an opportunity for you to opt out during the registration process if so desired)

Our course work is cumulative in nature and is designed to enhance boat handling skills. The course will prepare your child for future racing on a team or to sail recreationally without instruction.

Contact treasurer@youthsailingva.org with requests for financial assistance. Please provide your name, address, school your child is attending, household income and number of members in the household.
